Shane has always worked hard to embody the spirit of service that defined America's greatest generations.

Just a few months after high school, Shane joined the United States Marine Corps, heading to boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina. There, he embraced the discipline and camaraderie that forge true leaders. During his service, he earned two meritorious promotions and qualified as a paratrooper at Fort Benning, Georgia, proudly receiving his blood wings. While he cherishes his "leg" legacy, one of his most treasured memories is standing side-by-side with his Army and Marine Forced Recon brothers during that intense training, proof that America's strength lies in unity across branches and shared sacrifice for our nation.

That legacy of service continues today: Shane's oldest son serves honorably in the United States Air Force, carrying forward the family's deep commitment to country.

After leaving active duty, Shane poured his heart into community leadership as a Worship Leader and Elder at a local church in San Jose, while also running a small business that brought the joy of music—through singing, guitar, and piano—to children and adults alike. He found fulfillment in nurturing creativity and faith in others. Today, he is an R&D Electrical Test Engineer for a Medical Device Company and has served in various R&D capacities for companies like Zeltiq, Thoratec, St. Jude Medical, Abbott, and Procept-Biorobotics.

For nearly 28 years, San Jose has been Shane's home, the place where he met the love of his life. He has been blessed with over 23 years of marriage to his beautiful wife from Guatemala, a partnership built on unwavering devotion. Together, they are raising three wonderful children still at home, each one forging their own path with curiosity and courage.

Shane's broken Spanish often brings laughter at family gatherings, but the real gift is the profound bond he shares with his wife's family. His mother-in-law once shared with a warm smile that, of all her son-in-laws, she loves Shane the most joking that it's probably because they can't fully speak each other's language. Yet love, respect, and family transcend words.

Through his wife, Shane has developed a heartfelt appreciation for the Hispanic community—proud, hardworking, resilient people who risk everything to pursue the American Dream. Their values of faith, family, and bold determination mirror the very qualities that make this nation exceptional: courage in the face of challenge, deep pride in heritage, and unwavering hope for a brighter future for their children. At a time in America where these no longer seem relevant, it means we must hold on tighter to what we value most- each other.

Shane's life reflects a profound love for America, its people, its ideals, and its promise. He stands ready to serve again, because he believes in a country where every hardworking family can thrive under God's grace and the blessings of liberty our country is obligated to promote and preserve.
